Planning a tradeshow or convention delivery

How appointment times, marshalling yards, and dock queues shape a successful exhibit delivery, and what to hand your logistics partner.

Work from the venue's schedule, not yours

Convention centers publish move-in and move-out windows, marshalling-yard procedures, and dock rules. Your delivery has to fit those, so share the exhibitor kit and target dates with your partner as early as possible.

Checklist

  • Venue, hall, booth number, and dock assignment
  • Move-in and move-out windows and appointment times
  • Marshalling-yard location and check-in procedure
  • Certified weight tickets or paperwork the venue requires

Plan for the wait

Dock queues are normal at large shows. Agree in advance how dock-wait time is measured and compensated so nobody is negotiating from the yard.

After-hours and move-out

Many move-outs run late into the evening. Confirm after-hours requirements and timing when the program is scoped; work scheduled in advance can be planned and priced properly.
