Healthcare and institutional logistics

Transportation for operations that run on receiving schedules.

Hospitals, clinics, laboratories and public institutions depend on deliveries that arrive when receiving expects them, with a record of what was delivered. Barrow runs scheduled routes, facility transfers and supplier pickups with that record kept on every shipment.

What institutional receiving needs

Built around the requirements your receiving team already has.

  • Receiving schedules

Deliveries planned around dock hours, receiving windows and standing instructions for each location.
  • Secure handling

Handling and securement requirements are agreed for the program before the first run and followed on every run after it.
  • Shipment counts

Piece counts are recorded on the shipment when it is requested, so pickup and delivery can be checked against them.
  • Proof of delivery

Signature or photo, recipient name and delivery notes captured at drop-off and kept on the shipment record.
  • Documented exceptions

When a delivery differs from the plan, dispatch records it on the shipment in notes and the shipment conversation.
  • Overflow coverage

Supplemental capacity when internal couriers or primary carriers are at their limit.

Scoped per customer

Laboratory-related transportation

Barrow has transported veterinary laboratory samples from clinics to airport handoff for onward movement to a reference laboratory. For a healthcare customer, any specimen-related work is scoped to that customer's own handling, packaging, documentation and training requirements before it begins. Barrow does not offer a general medical-specimen service.

How a program starts

Scoped first, then run the same way every time.

  1. Step 1: Scope

Walk through locations, schedules, receiving rules and handling requirements.

  2. Step 2: Confirm

Agree counts, documentation and proof-of-delivery expectations in writing.

  3. Step 3: Run

Scheduled runs dispatched by Barrow, with status and proof of delivery on each shipment.

  4. Step 4: Review

Your team reviews shipment records in the customer portal; exceptions are discussed and resolved.
