Airport cargo recovery: an access and paperwork checklist

What has to be confirmed before a truck is sent to an airport cargo facility, so the freight is released on the first visit.

Confirm access before dispatch

Cargo facilities set their own access rules, hours, and credential requirements. Confirm which facility holds the freight, what identification or credentials the driver must present, and when the freight is actually available for release.

Checklist

  • Facility name, location, and hours
  • Air waybill and release or customs documentation
  • Driver credential requirements
  • Freight dimensions, weight, and piece count

Timing and waiting

Release times slip and warehouses queue. Set the pickup window against the confirmed release time and agree how waiting is handled so recovery does not stall over a pricing question.

Delivery after recovery

Treat the delivery leg like any other program: delivery point, receiving hours, and proof-of-delivery expectations confirmed before the truck leaves the airport.
